Job Description

The warehouse manager manages processes & teams associated with planning, directing, and monitoring all warehouse activities related to movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging including: *Shipping & Receiving *Warehousing *Materials Handling *Order Filling, Picking, and Packing *Inventory Control & Records Management. The person on this role is responsible for leading and developming a team of warehouse supervisors.

Functions of the Position:

Marginal (M) Functions Performed
30% E Oversees warehouse operations including looking at new ways of increasing efficiency, order picking accuracy, and overall performance improvement.
20% E Develops, implements, and monitors warehouse distribution and receiving efficiency reports.
10% E Directs and manages warehouse supervisors. Hires, trains, and evaluates warehouse supervisors
10% E Sets goals, objectives and manages labor reporting.
10% E Observes and enforces safety, GMP, programs, and attends appropriate training sessions.
10% E Responsible for Elgin, IL warehousing.
5% E Controls and manages Elgin's inventory and systems for managing inventory accuracy.
5% E Participates in continuous improvement projects and actively manages WMS requirements.
Continually * Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
* Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
* Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
* Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
* Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
Education, Experience and Knowledge:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
* Five or more years of experience in managing warehouse operations.
* Experience using a WMS and conveyor picking system required.

Skills and Competencies:
* Excellent decision making, planning and leadership skills required.
* Must be goal oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
* Must have excellent team building, project execution and communication skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
* Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) preferred.
Job Specific Requirements
In the event that the warehouse manager is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
