Job Description

North Houston Ultimate Staffing is currently sourcing for a Chemical Buyer candidate with minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing commodity and personal care ingredients. This role has a starting salary of $50,000, but could go higher for the right candidate. Our client is a great company with a awesome company culture! 
 


Responsibilities:
 

  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining proper inventory levels of materials for manufacturing operation.
  • Interact with various departments to ensure continuous supply of materials and deadlines are met.
  • Research products to ensure compatibility, cost effectiveness, and supply availability.
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc. and maintain relationships with them.
  • Manage standard costs within SAP and pursue cost reduction activities. 
  • Resolve vendor related problems with quality or invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in purchasing commodity and personal care ingredients.
  • Experience in CPG or manufacturing industry.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Excellent time management and communication and skills.  Self-Motivated.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • SAP experience preferred.
